When the Ducks drafted Jakob Silfverberg in the first round in 2010, the expectation was that he would develop into a top line center for Anaheim.
But as he began to develop and grow into a reliable NHL forward, Silfvers development slowed.
The Ducks did not draft a forward in the top six until they drafted Cody Glass at No. 17 in 2013.
After he broke his foot in the 2014-15 season, Glass was dealt to the Calgary Flames.
The Flames were also looking for a forward, and the Ducks thought Glass would be a good fit for them.
In the draft, the Ducks selected Jakobsson at No .1 overall, and they were right.
Glass has been the best player on the team.
The defense is solid and the offense is explosive.
There are few players on this team that are as dynamic or effective as Glass.
This team has the potential to be the top-four in the Western Conference this season.
Glass, meanwhile, is still learning the game and learning the trade.
Glass and Silfurs play off each other and it is difficult for a young player to play alongside the older player.
They are also competing against each other in the defensive zone and it’s hard for Glass to keep up.
They do not see eye-to-eye on the ice.
Glass was the first to admit that the way he played the last two years was a major reason why he was not a top-line forward.
This season, he is finding his game again.
He is a strong, mobile player who can play both ends of the ice with the puck.
His skating ability and puck skills are a lot more developed than last year.
This has been a good year for Silf.
He was able to put up 20 points in 52 games this season and he has also developed his play in the corners and at the defensive end of the rink.
The team’s defensive zone play has been outstanding this season, and Silfs offensive production is even more impressive.
He has also been a strong partner on the Ducks’ second line with Joonas Kemppainen and Andrew Cogliano.
When Silfvens defense partner on this line, the two of them have had the opportunity to play together for much of the season.
This is a good group of players who have contributed to the team’s success.
The two young men are on a strong development path and it will take time for them to grow into NHL players.
But it’s clear that Glass and Glass are a great pairing for this team.
Glass is a smart player and can be a very good offensive contributor in this league.
He can also play on the second line and contribute offensively as well.
He will need time to grow and adjust to the speed of the NHL game.
Silf has had a few struggles in the offensive zone this season but it is easy to understand why he is playing so well.
The more he improves, the better he will be as a player and a leader.
The defensive zone will be a much better area of his game as he continues to mature and mature as a defender.
Glass will need to continue to get better in this area as well to be a solid NHL player.
The offensive play of Silfvs group is better than last season.
Silfs defense play is still inconsistent and sometimes he makes poor decisions.
However, the offense of the Ducks is a lot better this season than last, and it has helped to the Ducks reach the playoffs in five of the last six seasons.
The young men have been the backbone of this team and they will be missed.
This group will not be the same team next season but they are a valuable part of the future.
